Masking Tape Shoes

Title:   Masking Tape Shoes Material:   Masking Tapes             In picture process:       I have never did masking tapes to create the shoes before. It was interesting project. So, I traced the shoes’ sole on paper then cut the paper as template then I put masking tapes on table and made it 2 or 3 layers then traced it with template paper then cut it. Then I was trying to build up the shoes to match the shoes, but I have been struggling with these and then I gave up for a while and I tried again later and even still been struggled with it and I did not finished the shoes.   It supposed to be basic project for anyone can do it. I would still practice with this project again someday so I can understand better in the future.    

Balsa wood Sculprures

Title:   Tower Masking Tapes with abstract white paper Material:          balsa wood    white watercolor paper    black ink    straight pins    black thread   masking tapes        Artist Statement:   I used line and shape to communicate because I want to create raw and organic feeling for this artwork. I wanted to build organic, abstract raw materials without draw diagram first.       In picture process:                       I found some scrap masking tapes and decided to build as tower with straight pins and masking tapes on balsa wood as base. SPATIAL BLUEPRINT

Title:   Spatial Blueprint Material:   Plywood, scrap balsawood, hot glue Dimensions:   ­15”   x approximately 24"               Artist Statement:    I used line and shapes to communicate to create visualize the spatial blueprint come out alive. I decided to use my kitchen, dining room and living room because I feel the way the shapes and lines in each room as organic flow in these rooms.       in picture process:           I used hot glue various sizes and shapes of scrap balsa wood on the plywood.      

Soap Carved wolf cub

    At first time in my life to carving the soap. I was awkward, nervous and not confidence enough. I could make big mistake with soap, but my professor encouraged me that I just keep going and not give up. So, I just keep carving until I was giving up on first soap. When I started to carving attempt on second soap, I was still felt little nervous to carving until I feel more confidence strongly then I carved better in the end. I forgot to add the ears and tail on second soap. Oops! I noticed my second soap looks better than first soap. Soap carving is a challenge project for me, but I learned a lot about it!   IN PROCESS:              

Memento - Bonfire

Title:   Memento - Bonfire Material:   ply wood Dimensions:   approximate 5 or 6"  diameter circle x ¾” in.                                             Artist Statement: I chose to use wood because it reminds me of the bonfire, it always brought me adventure and priceless memory since my childhood and even now, I always enjoy the bonfire around with my family and friends in couple of places which is backyard at my family friend’s house in North Fairfield Ohio, and on Key Waden island in Naples/Marco Island. I always enjoy watching and look around bonfire under the stars and moon! So that’s why I wanted to make a bonfire as my memento project.   picture process: I drew draft diagram.    First thing I cut plywood 5 in diameter and sanded whole thing. Then I used drill machine to make a hole deep maybe about ¼ deep inside of maybe 3-inch diameter of 5 diameter and sanded it. Then I used wood burner to burn some line

Fluxus box - Explorers

Title:   Fluxus box - Explorers Material used:   Plywood balsawood screw eyes  fishing line electric wires sheet of corkboard  2 portable batteries light boxes.   Dimensions:   ­15”x12.3”x 12.1” Artist statement:   I created Fluxus box by inspiration the movie, “The explorers” by 1985. It’s all about main character dreamt and he wanted to travel out of the space after his favorite movie, and he and his friends decided to build homemade spaceship. I want my Fluxus box for guests to see and imagine that anything ability to build with.          In process:  I drew a draft diagram.                                                                 I built birch plywood box together by air nail gun 4 sides (left, right, top, bottom). I drilled holes of front panel of box and installed 4 rubbed age bronze peepholes. I screwed 4 corners on the front of box to the box. I buil
